The action of the game takes place in Nevendaar-a fictional world. At the beginning of the campaign the player chooses a class of ruler: Chapter Guild Warlord or Archmage. Every government has its bonuses, defining style of play. Process of the game "Disciples" includes two main components: improving the capital, which gives access to new forces and capabilities, as well as the study of spells used on the strategic map, and the use of heads of small teams of heroes, for reconnaissance, attack and seizure of lands and resources.
